The project’s development objective is to “improve the country’s hydrometeorological, climatic and early warning services and make them more accessible to targeted sectors and communities”.

It is more specifically:

• build human capacities and develop institutions for the provision of hydrometeorological services and climate information
• strengthen physical and IT infrastructure for the provision of hydrometeorological services, climate information and response to natural disasters
• strengthen users and communities’ access to hydrometeorological, climate and food security information services
• enhance user and community access to early warning and response services for floods and natural disasters.
